Applying for royalty advances

SeemDistro offers royalty advances to qualifying artists, giving you access to future earnings today to help fund your music career.

A royalty advance is an upfront payment based on your projected future royalty earnings. Unlike a loan, there's no interest and no requirement to repay if your music doesn't earn the projected amount.

To qualify for a royalty advance, you must meet the following criteria:

• At least 6 months of distribution history with SeemDistro
• Minimum of 100,000 total streams across all platforms
• Consistent monthly streaming growth
• At least 3 releases in your catalog
• Good standing account with no copyright strikes or policy violations

SeemDistro offers several advance programs:

Standard Advance

• 3-6 months of projected earnings
• 15% service fee
• Recoupment from 70% of your future royalties

Growth Advance

• 6-12 months of projected earnings
• 20% service fee
• Recoupment from 80% of your future royalties
• Includes marketing support package

Catalog Advance

• For artists with extensive back catalogs
• Up to 2 years of projected earnings
• Custom terms based on catalog performance
• Recoupment from 50-70% of your future royalties

2. Go to the "Royalty Advances" section
3. Click "Apply for Advance"
4. Complete the application form
5. Submit any requested documentation
6. Wait for review (typically 3-5 business days)

Our finance team will evaluate your application based on:

• Streaming history and growth trajectory
• Seasonal trends in your genre
• Upcoming releases and promotional plans
• Past earnings consistency
• Social media presence and growth

If your application is approved:

1. You'll receive an offer outlining:

• Advance amount
• Service fee
• Recoupment percentage
• Estimated recoupment period

2. Review and sign the digital agreement
3. Receive funds via your preferred payment method (typically within 5 business days)

• We'll collect the agreed percentage from your royalty earnings until the advance plus service fee is recouped
• You'll continue to receive the remaining percentage of your royalties during the recoupment period
• Your dashboard will show your remaining balance and estimated time to full recoupment

Q: Does a royalty advance affect my ownership of my music? A: No. You retain 100% ownership of your music.

Q: Can I apply for another advance before my current one is recouped? A: Generally no, but exceptions may be made for artists with significant growth.

Q: What happens if my streams decrease and I can't recoup the advance? A: Unlike traditional loans, you're only obligated to pay back from your actual royalty earnings. If your music doesn't earn enough, you won't be required to pay the difference.

Q: Can I pay back the advance early? A: Yes. You can make additional payments at any time to reduce your outstanding balance without penalty.
